After
This is my 1965 Chevelle Malibu that I purchased from a little old lady in Cookville, TN through her brother for $4300.00. It had just over 61,000 original miles on the speedometer, had no rust and had never been wrecked. It had the original 283 2 barrel carb and a 3 speed shifted on the column. I almost passed on this deal because I hated the color and the owner wouldn't accept my offer of $4,000.00. His asking price was $5500.00. Fortunately I had 3 of my friends there with me to keep me from passing up this car. I paid the man $4300.00 and drove it back about 275 miles to Memphis. I had to replace the fuel filter just as I was getting into Memphis. After replacing the fuel filter, I drove it straight to the track and weighed it at 3160 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas, a bumper jack, and two spare tires.  After, as shown here in race trim, it weighs 3625 lbs. Best run to date is two back to back passes of 9.438 @ 145 mph on 9 inch slicks.
