              "CRUSHER"
        EXHAUST SYSTEM
Borla did not offer a conventional collector, so instead of using a conventional set, it was decided to try the collector mufflers even though they are rather large for this application. Though ground clearance was not a serious problem, it was not optimal and in hindsight, conventional collectors would have been a better choice. The collectors were mounted to the transmission crossmember using welded brackets and 5 inch long 3/8" bolts.

Borla's 304 Stainless 3 inch tubing was used for the secondary exhaust plumbing.
Borla's XR-1 Mufflers with a straight-thru design were used as a secondary quieting agent. The mufflers were positioned as high and as far backward as possible. Bolt-thru tabs were used on both ends of the mufflers for ease of assembly/disassembly.
Tail pipes were routed over the rear axle housing as high as possible for maximum clearance.
Passenger side received insulation wrap to protect the fuel line from excess heat. A flange was made for attaching to the upper surface on both sides.
The tail exit was attached to the bent flange on the factory fuel tank. The tip was kept short and hidden from view at the rear.
The finished system was completed with modularity and ease of installment and removal in mind. The sound is unique and powerful.
