The EFI system is a F.A.S.T. (Fuel Air Spark Technology) ECU and wiring harness and sensor pack. It utilizes the bank to bank/ wide band O2 options and comes with software and instruction booklet. |
A panel was fabricated to mount on the inside face of the heater box. Since the heater is fully functional, it was bent on the ends slightly to provide an air gap between the ECU and heater. Countersunk bolts were spot welded on the other side to prevent them from turning. |
The ECU is mounted to the heater box. |
This location seemed right and the heater box was test fitted for clearance. There is still room between the ECU and glove box to remove the ECU should the need ever arise. |
The heater duct interfered with the ECU so it was decided to cut the plastic at the bend. This would sacrifice part of the passenger heating air supply should the heater ever be employed, but it was a compromise that was deemed necessary. |
An aluminum end cap was fabricated to close of the end of the duct. It was siliconed in place with black RTV. |
The bottlom of the heater box was chosen as a decent location to add some wiring integration. An additional fuse panel containing 4 fuses, 4 relays, and ground and hot strip terminals were part of the package. Plugs were used so that the heater box could be removed without disconnecting the spaghetti. |
